Doctor Visit for Week 35

We are now into the phase where we go and see the doctor every week from here on out. This was the first visit in a while where they have actually done something besides take vitals on Christina. Now one thing I can say for myself is that I have been with Christina for every doctors appointment this far and boy can I say that this one was the most interesting of them all. This was the first time Christina had her cervix checked out. INTERESTING!!! I definatly felt a little akward at this point, but as a first of many to come, I just grinned and beared it. And boy did Christina come away after that one saying it was one of the most uncomfortable things she has had to go through. She was calling her mom and wondering why nobody gave her the heads up on how the cervix check was going to go. Enough about that, on to what the doctor determined from the cervix check. Christina is now 1cm dilated and 50% thinned out. For those of you who are like us who don't know what that means, it means this, we are on our way or should I say, Amelia, is on her way to the world not to long from now. The doctor was excited, we were excited, and now we just wait and see if Christina progresses any further when we go next week. We will keep you posted. Also, we hopefully get to tour the labor unit this Monday for our labor and delivery class. We will keep you posted on that as well. We love yall and will talk at you soon.

Labor and Delivery Class - Part 2

Well it wasn't as bad as what they made it out to be. The video was fine and I think I'm going to make it. If I can watch 4 women give birth, I think I'm going to make it through Christina's time. I wish I could have taken pictures of all of the guys in the class. The tense, uneasy look that they had. I do admit this was me at different times in the video. The teacher told all of the guys to eat a good meal and drink a coke to keep from passing out. When I tell you as all of the guys entered the room, they all had a coke in their hand. I tell you it is quite amazing to see the birth of a child. It's like, how do they get out of there. It's really neat to see the amazing process in which a baby is born. Next week we get to tour the labor and delivery part of the hospital. I can't wait for that. It'll be a lot of fun, more fun than watching other women give birth.

I'm also posting the most recent picture of Christina. This was taken at the beach and she is a little over 34 weeks in the picture. We go to the doctor on Friday for week 35 check-up. We will be sure to keep you posted on how things are going, until then hope you are having a good day. Talk to you soon.

April Showers Bring May Babies

Hello everyone. I know yall have been waiting for the next post. I apologize for the delay, but things have been busy with baby showers. We had awsome showers both at our church as well as Christina's home town shower. We recieved a lot of what we had registered for. We also had an abundance of gift cards to get some of the bigger items on the registry that we didn't get like stroller and ect. I don't know if people thought we were having triplets, but it seemed like that's how much clothes we got. Amelia has more clothes now then me and Christina combined. I want to be a baby again. Not really, just kidding. We definatly feel better prepared now for the baby after the two showers. The only thing we don't have that we need is a dresser/changer combo unit, but we ordered one today from JC Penny's. The only thing is that it is back ordered until the end of June. We're alright with that because that's the one we wanted, so we thought it would be better to wait then to settle with something else. We do want to say thank you to everyone reading who gave us a gift for the baby, without you we would be freaking out right now trying to figure out how we would get everything, so THANK YOU!!! You want to make sure you tune into the next post because we have labor and delivery class tonight and it's "movie" night. We'll see you next time.
