Labor & Delivery - Class 1

Well, well, well. The first class of labor and delivery. To get us started we drive into the parking lot and there are 3 women who look like they need to be at the emergency room not the labor class with there pillows. Pillows? We didn't know about the pillows. We were the only ones without pillows. We didn't use them, so we got by with that one. So we get into the class and find out that everyone has laborphobia (the fear of labor). Not to mention one of the first things the instructor talks about is the video they will show next class and the man who passed out from it during the last session of the class. Oh great, there I am, the husband who will watch the video and pass out. At this moment you can see all the men in the room tense up and ask for an excuse slip for next class. Then as we are going around introducing ourselves we find out that there is one women who is due 4 weeks from tonight. Forget the video we might see the actual thing at class #4! Talk about passing out now. Then there was a women who is not due until June 7th, but she says the baby is ready to go now. That's fantastic, now we have 2 ladies who could go a t anytime. This is not what I signed up for. I just want to see Christina give labor. Really, the class was good and I think it will be good for us. We will definatly get educated about the labor and delivery classes. I mean if it takes me 4 weeks to figure out how this baby is going to come into the world, it's got to be good. Well, that's it for now, we'll talk to you soon.

Back from Youth Convention

We are back from Birmingham. We were there with the youth at Youth Convention, which is like church blended with a concert atmosphere. It was fun but we were ready to get home, at least Christina was. I never thought that my wife's feet could get so big. They swelled up Friday night during the service, so I was on the hunt for some water and trying to prop her feet up on my lap without the apperance of us being lovy dubby towards one another while being in a church service. We had a good time with the youth and it was good for them. SACRIFICE is what Christina would call it. She told me this was the last youth trip she was going on until she has the baby. Bless her heart she could never get comfortable plus she didn't sleep well at the hotel. Speaking of the hotel nothing is worse then when you come down to the breakfast area smelling biscuits and gravy and you get a biscuit, it's all warm on the outside, then you cut it open for the gravy to find out it's frozen in the middle. GROSS. So we had to settle for Burger King. Nothing like eating fastfood for 5 meals in a row. Amelia did not enjoy that. She continues to squirm around and what little room is left in the womb. Well it never stops for us, we are headed for our young marrieds tonight and then tomorrow will be our first labor and delivery class. YIPEE!!!
Talk to yall soon. - Matt

On the Way to the Doctor

Good morning! We are up and at them this morning. We have a pretty busy weekend coming up. It's crazy because no matter how busy you think one week is it seems as though the next one is even more busy. We are headed to the doctor this morning for a check-up. Christina is now at 33 weeks, so not much more left to go. The pic is her at 32 weeks. She seems to start feeling tired more often as we hit the home strech. After the doctor it's on to Birmingham for youth convention with the kids. Amelia is about to get her first taste of youth trips of many to come in her life. When we get back from Birmingham, we start labor and delivery classes on Monday. I can't wait to see what this is going to be like for daddy. I wonder if there will be a class for the dad's about staying calm and collective and how to keep from passing out. I doubt it! Well, we will talk to yall soon. Have a good weekend.

The Growing Mommy and Amelia

The First Post

All right, so here we go. This is the first post of many to come. I tell you this, that there are a lot of different feelings that me and Christina are feeling right now. For Christina, she just wants to have the baby. For me, I'm excited, nervous, and a little freaked out knowing that in just 7 weeks or so I'm going to be a dad.

Things are busy as ever with getting ready for the baby and stressing out about making sure we have everything for the baby or not. Not to mention being busy with ministry doing worship, nursery, children's, youth, and PR work for the church. God has been good and in the midst of everything there is a peace.

Christina is now 33 weeks along and the pic was at 27 weeks. More pics to come. That's it for now we'll post soon. Love yall!
